Engineers need highly precise measuring equipment

Quality is only relevant to our customers if it can be tested or quantified in some way.

Verifying that testing and measuring equipment continues to operate in a reliable, accurate fashion at regular intervals has always formed an essential component of quality management.
This is the job of the Calibration and Inspection Body, which ensures that the requirements specified in the DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 quality management guidelines and DIN ISO 10012 quality assurance specifications are met in full.


Our objective is to give customers a complete, full-scope offering for implementing testing activities. Therefore, we have specialised in railway-specific testing and quantification methods. To this end, we have been accredited by Germany's national metrology institute (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt)

Accreditation is required to be formally recognised by the German Federal Railway Authority as an approved test centre for monitoring testing equipment.

For the majority of calibrations and tests, the place of testing selected is defined by the relevant test procedure. Wheelset machining tools, measuring tracks and mechanical and electronic testing equipment are calibrated by our inspection and analysis teams on site at the customer. For manual measuring equipment, the place of testing is selected based on the accuracy requirements defined.

Our produts:

Accredited calibrations are required for measuring equipment if the calibration routine must be confirmed by an official body, such as is the case with a reference measuring device.

Professional calibration of measuring and testing equipment:

  • The basis of our work is formed by the calibration laboratory accredited by the German Calibration Service (DKD) for the application areas of length, pressure and electronically quantifiable parameters in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and formally recognised by the German Federal Railway Authority (EBA)
  • Calibration of DIN measuring equipment and specialised railway measuring and testing equipment as well as technical installations and machinery
  • Professional calibration work carried out in the application areas of length (1D, 2D and 3D), force, pressure, torque, electronically quantifiable parameters, time intervals, frequency and temperature
  • Use of state-of-the-art specialised and universal measuring techniques to minimise measurement uncertainty
  • Calibration on site at the customer or under controlled conditions in our laboratories, depending on the level of measurement uncertainty required
  • Delivery and pick-up service for measuring and testing equipment to minimise downtime
  • Professional maintenance of many types of measuring and testing equipment in a dedicated electronics laboratory and mechanical workshop
  • Provisioning of test reports in electronic format
  • Audit-compliant, unambiguous and electronically-assisted identification of measuring and testing equipment

We are therefore certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:200 quality management guidelines and DIN ISO 10012 quality assurance specifications.   • Quantification of the measurement uncertainty of measurement results and definition of relevant parameters for assessing the capability and suitability of measuring and testing equipment
  • ​Planning and implementation of examinations to verify the suitability of testing processes for the measurement task envisaged

Supply of railway workshop production equipment (RWPD):

  • Professional consultation for choosing appropriate measuring and testing equipment to carry out railway-specific measurement tasks
  • ​Procurement and delivery of railway workshop production equipment (RWPD), including quality assurance and initial calibration

Contract measurements:

  • Planning and professional execution of routine and specialised measurement tasks using state-of-the-art universal measuring devices in the application areas of length (1D, 2D and 3D), force, pressure, torque, electronically quantifiable parameters, time intervals, frequency and temperature
  • Processing of measurement tasks as an independent test laboratory (e.g. in the case of a dispute)

We also have many years of experience in calibrating railway-specific measuring and testing equipment as well as technical facilities, and can cater to a wide range of tasks thanks to the versatile resources we employ. In addition, we maintain an online database of your measuring and testing equipment.

Carrying out the tests yourself will cost you time. Focusing on your core business therefore makes it necessary for you to find a competent partner in this area.

Our offering
Our personnel will calibrate all of your measuring and testing equipment and facilities in line with recognised and accredited methods. We install and maintain a comprehensive recalibration system by leveraging defined quantitative standards, correlating measuring units and archiving audit-compliant documentation in a database. We can arrange 72-hour service calls, carry out tests on site, transport and/or replace measuring and testing equipment. We will repair testing equipment or arrange for it to be repaired as well as organise substitute equipment in the interim.

The measurement results of your testing equipment can be reproduced at any time with respect to measurement uncertainty and are aligned with national and international standards. This, in turn, safeguards the reliability of the results while minimising equipment downtime.
