    Mobile measuring system for axlebox condition assessment

    Axleboxes are exposed to extreme loads at the interface between the wheelset and bogie frame. They therefore have to meet diverse technical requirements and are among the safety-related components of a rail vehicle.

    With the axlebox detector, DB Systemtechnik and TÜV Rheinland Intertraffic GmbH now offer a cost-efficient test system for assessing the condition of and detecting damage on bogies with noticeable acoustic problems, thus combining engineering expertise with state-of-the-art AI-powered analysis methods.

    Suspected bearing damage on stationary vehicles can thus be located reliably, confirmed or even disproved, reducing unnecessary wheelset maintenance to a minimum.
