    Our test laboratory uses state-of-the-art, proven measuring equipment to carry out standard measurement tasks but can also offer individual, customised measurement services:

    • Stationary in laboratory
    • Static and dynamic tests (e.g. for accompanying measurements during railway operation field testing)

    Accredited test procedures

    • Our test laboratory in Minden is accredited by Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS) in the area of brake tests on rail vehicles in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025.
    • The accreditation encompasses the relevant test procedures, e.g. in accordance with DIN EN 13979-1, DIN/EN 14535, UIC 541-3, UIC 541-4 and UIC 510-5. See the appendix for the accreditation certificate.
    • DB Systemtechnik is QMS certified to the ISO 9001 standard.

    Our tests and test quantities

    • Pad/shoe tests (dry/wet) (coefficients of friction, temperatures, condition of pad/disc before and after, wear)
    • Wheels (coefficients of friction, temperatures, residual stress, deformation (deformation during/after braking), fracture strength)
    • Shaft/wheel brake discs (coefficients of friction, temperatures, wear, fracture strength, power loss due to passive air cooling)
